Join Alexandria Sister Cities Committee, in collaboration with Embassy of Sweden, on October 21, 7:30 – 9:00 p.m. at the Lyceum for a special performance by Swedish Pianist Niklas Sivelöv on his US and Canadian Tour. The event is free, but registration is required.

Kids Euro Festival November 4

The Embassy of Sweden invites the whole family to participate in a day of creativity, imagination, and fun. Enjoy theater workshops, crafts, and film screenings, swap toys with new friends and, of course, partake in a Swedish fika. Whether you join us for a few hours or for the whole day, come to play, perform, or take in a performance designed to engage kids and parents alike. The event takes place on Saturday, November 4, 10:00 – 3:00 p.m. at House of Sweden.

SACU Luncheon October 17

The Swedish American Cultural Union will host a luncheon on Tuesday, October 17 at Marriott Key Bridge Hotel. The speaker at this luncheon is Ambassador Andras Simonyi. Andras Simonyi is the Managing Director at the Center for Transatlantic Relations (CTR) at Johns Hopkins’ School for Advanced International Studies (SAIS) and Hungary’s former ambassador to the United States.  He will discuss his new book, “Nordic Ways,” an ambitious project by the Center designed to explain the Nordic countries for an American audience. The Nordic Dancers Fall Season

The Nordic Dancers of Washington, D.C., begin their fall season Wednesday, September 6 at 7:30 at Highland View Elementary School in Silver Spring, Maryland, and, with the exception of the week of Thanksgiving and December 20 and 27, will meet regularly on Wednesdays until June. Come any Wednesday and learn traditional dances of Sweden, Denmark, Finland, Iceland, and Norway. Newcomers are welcome; no prior dance experience is necessary. Exhibitions at House of Sweden

Visit House of Sweden and experience their exhibitions. Where The Children Sleep by Swedish photographer Magnus Wennman (above) will be on display in House of Sweden from March 18.

There are also Story Time Sessions every Saturday at 2 p.m.

Open on weekends 12 p.m – 5 p.m. Free admission!
